NASSAU, The Bahamas – The New Providence Public Primary Sports Association 2022 Soccer Tournament at the National Sports Authority’s multipurpose field was action filled as 20 primary school teams with 600 plus boys and girls strategized, kicked and scored.
After fun and intense competition, four schools emerged to the top in the Boys Division with first place being clinched by Sybil Strachan Primary. Second place winner Yellow Elder Primary with third place win for T.G. Glover Primary and fourth place Sadie Curtis Primary.
In the Girls Division, Eva Hilton Primary received the first-place finish with Claridge Primary in second, Cleveland Eneas Primary in third place and Garvin Tynes Primary securing the fourth-place position.
With a mandate to increase awareness and participation in soccer in The Bahamas, the BFA continues to create opportunities for young adults throughout the archipelago in all school districts to advance in football.
“We are so delighted to work with the New Providence Public Primary School Sports Association, the National Sports Authority (NSA) and corporate Bahamas to have these types of events which bring hundreds of young people together for the love of soccer. We saw some amazing talent emerge on the field during this tournament and it is our hope that soccer continues to grow and young athletes develop and sharpen their skills through practice, play and competition. It is our commitment to support young boys and girls who are the future of soccer in this country,” expressed BFA Deputy General Secretary Carl Lynch.
The Bahamas Football Association also congratulates all special awardees at the 2022 New Providence Public Primary Sports Association Soccer Tournament.
