Concacaf Federation in Focus: Bahamas Football Association

The Bahamas Football Association takes centre stage in the latest edition of Concacaf’s Federation in Focus, highlighting the growth of football across the country and the uniquely Bahamian identity being built on both grass and sand.

The feature looks at the journey of football in The Bahamas, from hosting the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2017 and becoming the first Caribbean nation to win a match at the tournament, to the continued expansion of grassroots, youth and national team programmes.

Under the leadership of BFA President Anya James, the Association continues to focus on creating opportunities through football while developing players, coaches and the wider football community.

The feature also highlights the BFA’s work across national team football, beach soccer, coach education, girls’ and youth development, grassroots programmes and infrastructure development, as the Association continues working to grow the game throughout the islands.
