Affiliations
The Bahamas Football Association (BFA) is proud to be affiliated with prominent national, regional, and international organizations that support the development of football. These partnerships allow us to create pathways for athletes, enhance training and competition, and elevate Bahamian football on the world stage.
FIFA
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is the governing body of world football, futsal, and beach soccer, encompassing 211 member nations. FIFA is responsible for organizing football’s most prestigious tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which The Bahamas proudly hosted in 2017. Through its affiliation with FIFA, the BFA benefits from training programs, infrastructure development, and participation in global competitions.
Concacaf
The Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) oversees football across the region, working in tandem with FIFA to promote the sport’s growth. Formed in 1961, Concacaf administers competitions for clubs and national teams, including the Gold Cup and Concacaf Champions League, while providing training and development resources for its 41 member associations, including The Bahamas.
Caribbean Football Union (CFU)
The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) is the governing body for 31 Member Associations in the Caribbean, including The Bahamas. The CFU operates as part of the Concacaf Confederation, organizing competitions, training, and administrative support for football development across the Caribbean’s English, Dutch, French, and Spanish-speaking nations.
Bahamas Olympic Committee (BOC)
The Bahamas Olympic Committee unites athletes and sports supporters across the country to create a vibrant Olympic movement. As a member, the BFA joins 23 national federations that contribute to the growth and development of sports in The Bahamas, with full membership rights, including voting privileges within the BOC’s general assembly.
