Nassau, Bahamas – A groundbreaking initiative has been launched through a partnership between the Bahamas Football Association (BFA) and Urban Renewal, introducing a community engagement program aimed at empowering inner-city youth. This program commenced in Kemp Road on January 31, 2024, with football sessions held every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the Uriah McPhee playing field, with plans to expand to Bain Town.
Anya James, President of the BFA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Through this partnership, we’re not just playing football; we’re building a foundation for the future of our youth. By offering them a structured environment where they can learn discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, we’re opening doors to endless opportunities, including education and scholarships. This program is about more than sports; it’s about shaping the leaders of tomorrow.”
