Nassau, Bahamas – The Bahamas Football Association (BFA) recently hosted a medical workshop for club representatives, with 15 participants from various BFA clubs attending the event on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. The workshop took place in the VIP Room at the Beach Soccer Stadium, led by Ricardo Woodside, an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician from First Response Medical and Training Services.
The workshop covered essential topics such as CPR, Basic Life Support, Bleeding Control, and Concussion Protocols. This hands-on training provided participants with the knowledge and skills to handle medical emergencies with confidence, ensuring that player safety remains a priority during both practices and matches.
“The health and safety of our players is our top priority,” said Bruce Swan, Technical Director of the BFA. “Having trained representatives at every club is key to creating a safer environment on the field. This workshop is just one of the many ways we’re equipping our clubs with the tools they need to respond to emergencies. We are deeply grateful to Ricardo Woodside for sharing his expertise and delivering such essential training.”
