Westminster Girls’ Varsity Soccer is having one of its best seasons in recent history with a record of 9-2-1. Lead by a big, strong senior class, combined with young talent, the team is achieving success on and off the field. Offensively, the team is finding the back of the net. They’ve scored 40 goals in 12 games and only conceded 8.
Westminster has had ten different goal scorers, one of them being Bahamian’ Paige Smith ‘. Paige scored an important goal in the Marlet’s 2-0 win on the road at Greenwich Academy. Paige has done a fantastic job as a center forward, holding the ball with her back to pressure and distributing the ball to her teammates.
The Martlets have four games remaining and hope to make the NEPSAC Class A Tournament for the first time since 2014. Paige graduates in 2023. Her performance at this high school will open the door for some of our future female players.
