Ricqea Bain did not see herself coaching the national although she loved the game of soccer. One of the reasons being that she was very young and coaching was male dominant. Bain started coaching at 18 years old for Future Stars U-9 and was noticed by The Bahamas Football Association Technical Director, Kevin McGreskin in late 2015. McGreskin ask Bain to try coaching at a different level and she eventually agreed.
She was shocked that she was selected to coach the Bahamas National Team at age 21 but McGreskin saw something in Ricqea that she could bring the the table. The opportunity of coaching the Bahamas National Team was given to her before she could even want it.
Bain’s first time travelling as a coach was with the U-15 girls in 2016 to Orlando, Florida. Later on in 2017 she traveled to Puerto Rico, IMG Academy in Florida in 2018 and Curaçao in 2019.
As the years went on she learnt new things, taught players more technical skills and how to understand the game better and became to love coaching and helping young players strive to be successful in the game of soccer.
