The Bahamas Football Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and FIFA, officially broke ground at Columbus Primary School for the construction of a new soccer pit — a project designed to enhance youth development and promote sport within the school community.
The ceremony was led by The Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Education; Fred Lunn, General Secretary; Carl Lynch, Deputy General Secretary; Bruce Swan, Technical Director; Jordan Victoire, Lead, FIFA Regional Office; André Moss, Projects and Infrastructure; and Walter Holleran, Senior Infrastructure Manager.
Also in attendance were Crystal Strachan, Education Officer for the Sports Unit (MOE) with responsibility for soccer, sailing, swimming, and chess; Floyd Armbrister, Consultant of Sports (MOE); Carlton Adderley, Construction – Future Titan Development; Annie Cartwright, Director of Security; Oria Wood Knowles, Deputy Director of Sports (MOE); Romero Mortimer, Contractor; and Ayo Martin, grandson of Minister Hanna Martin.
This partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening the connection between education and sport — building facilities that inspire learning, teamwork, and growth across The Bahamas. 🇧🇸
