A tropical storm warning is now in effect for The southeast Bahamas which includes the islands of Inagua, Mayaguana, Crooked Island, Acklins, Ragged Island, Long Cay, Samana Cay, The Central Bahamas which includes the islands of Exuma, Cat Island, Rum Cay, San Salvador, Long Island, and also the Turks and Caicos Islands.
A tropical storm warning means that the tropical storm conditions could be experienced within 36 hours.
A tropical storm watch is now in effect for the Northwest Bahamas. This includes the islands of Andros, New Providence, Eleuthera, Abaco, Grand Bahama, Bimini and The Berry Islands including their neighboring cays.
A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions could be experienced within 48 hours.
At 11PM EDT, The center of potential tropical cyclone nine was located near the latitude 15.8 degrees north and longitude 67.0 degrees west, or about 264 miles southeast of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, or about 485 miles southeast of Grand Turk, or about 550 miles east-southeast of Inagua, or about 939 miles southeast of New Providence.
This disturbance is moving toward the west-northwest near 20 MPH and this general motion with some slight reduction in forward speed, is expected over the next few days. On this forecast track, the disturbance will move over The southeast Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands by Thursday Evening.
Localized flooding and gusty winds are expected in the aforementioned islands as the system approaches.
