WILLEMSTAD, Curacao – In a game that would decide who was promoted from League C Group B, The Bahamas drew 1-1 with Bonaire at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Curacao.
The Bahamas, knowing a draw would be more than enough to clinch first place, opened the game very conservatively, denying Bonaire any good chances in the early going.
Lesly St. Fleur’s 23rd minute effort clanged off the far post as the Baha Boyz continued to create opportunities on the counterattack while Bonaire pressed forward.
Terry Delancy Jr’s 36th minute header put the visitors ahead 1-0 and left Bonaire with a mountain to climb.

But just before halftime, Bonaire struck back, with Ilfred Piar heading the ball across the goal past Dwayne Whylly in the 44th minute to knot things up and give the home side a boost heading into the break.
Rishison Franz had three saves in the first 10 minutes of the second half to keep Bonaire alive, but as the clock kept ticking, the Baha Boyz began to slow down the game and see out the result.
The Bahamas finish as group winners with 10 points, and earn a berth in both League B and the 2021 Gold Cup qualifiers. Bonaire end the campaign with seven points, good for second place in the group.
